Cycle racks are fast becoming popular around the country because of government funding becoming available and the fact that we would all like the next generation to have a fitter and healthier lifestyle.

So what are cycle racks I hear you ask?

Here are a few pieces of information on them.

· They are a very simple installation product that can be located anywhere at your school and can also be incorporated into a cycle shelter if you are lucky enough to have one of those too.
· They are made from steel construction and come in a variety of styles and designs to suit each school.
· They can even be powder coated in lovely bright colours to add that extra special fun look to them.
· They can be floor or wall mounted but do need to have a hard and solid surface for safety and stability whilst holding the bikes.
· They come in a variety of sizes to suit the individual school and colleges.
· They can be galvanised or un-galvanised.

What benefits will you get by having a cycle rack or two installed?

· Children will learn to be responsible for their belongings by storing them correctly.
· More children would be encouraged to cycle to school knowing their bike will be safe and not getting damaged if it falls over whilst leaning on a tree or fence.
· Families will be getting more exercise and becoming fitter and healthier by cycling to school each day instead of using a car.
· The amount of cars on the road could decrease and then there will be less congestion outside the schools in the mornings and afternoons.

So as you can see from this brief article on cycle racks, they are such a good idea for you to have installed at your site and think of the appreciation that your pupils and their families will have for the school.

It’s so important to try to make today’s children healthy and fit so what better way than to encourage cycling to school than to have a bike storage system that is safe, secure and that will last for many years to come.
